It’s a good thing the breakout category is divided into male and female categories. Otherwise the talented and beautiful Mia Wasikowska could have lost to Captain Fine Chris Pine from Star Trek.

MTV did a smart choice for dividing the Breakout category into Male and Female.

If MTV decided to just do Best Breakthrough Performance, Mia Wasikowska would have been in “No Man’s Land”, because it would have been a straight race between Pine, Quinto, Galifanakis or Helms.
